What it does

Logging

Pick the spot and type how many. If you'd rather time it, enter minutes instead, or both. You can add your own spots and say how aware you were.

Urges

When you feel the urge, open the wave and keep a finger on the water for thirty seconds, or pop kelp pods. Each urge you get through shows on your chart.

Patterns

One chart of your week, your month, or everything. You set a daily target and it shows as a line.

Therapist report

A printable PDF with totals, the chart, body parts, time of day and how aware you were, for a week, a month, or since your last session.

There are no streaks. The app remembers your longest time between picks, and a bad day doesn't reset anything.

Questions

How much does Gentleskin cost?

The first 7 days are free. After that it's $29.99 a year or $5.99 a month in the US, and prices vary by region. The app reminds you two days before the trial ends. The urge screen works without a subscription.

Is it only for skin picking?

It was made for skin picking, but you can use it for other body-focused repetitive behaviors too, like nail biting, cheek biting or hair pulling. You add your own spots and log them the same way.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet.

Is Gentleskin a treatment?

No. It's a tracking app, not a medical device. If you see a therapist, you can bring them the PDF report.
